AB The risk of infection precluded normal visiting by relatives of COVID-19 patients in an intensive therapy unit (ITU). Instead, a team of medical students and retired consultants telephoned next of kin with a daily update. A categorised selection of the students’ reflections on their experiences is presented and discussed.
