Minimally thrombosed – the thrombus covers less than 50% of the diameter of the lumen. Total occlusion – greater than 50% of the lumen is occluded but with minimal extension into the superior mesenteric vein. Complete thrombosis of the portal vein and the proximal superior mesenteric vein. Complete thrombosis of the portal vein and the proximal and distal superior mesenteric vein.
