Management of H1N1 influenza virus respiratory syndrome

Abstract

In 2009 a new H1N1 Influenza A has been identified in Mexico, with secondary spread worldwide. The main clinical features are represented by a mild respiratory tract infection, but there are reports of complicated cases with fatalities even in patients without comorbidities. This review summarizes the current concepts of epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and infection control issues of the disease caused by the new H1N1 Influenza A virus.
